We often hear people say they have Sisterlocks. The truth is a lot of them have microlocks.
At a glance Sisterlocks and microlocks are very similar. However, there are some key differences. To become a certified Sisterlocks consultant a stylist must undergo training by certified training associates from the Sisterlock organization. Sisterlocks, a trademarked company, was founded by Dr. JoAnn Cornwell.
Certified Sisterlocks Trainee Tramaine Hibbler-Green, a certified Sisterlocks trainee, gives a few points on the Sisterlock experience:
- Sisterlocks are only established using a special interlock method and tool. They are not established with two-strand twists or coils.
- Once Sisterlocks are established, the customer receives a Customer Starter Kit that includes: starter shampoo, tip sheet, rubber bands, shampooing instructions, and a Sisterlocks birthday certification form.
- A consultation and the first retightening are included in the Sisterlocks fee.
